Teach it step by step
- Check that the area and soft equipment suit the learner.
- Model a gentle toss or roll and a stable receiving position.
- Practice a comfortable movement or balance variation.
- Describe one successful adjustment and ask a partner a clarifying question.
- Share observations in complete ideas and ask a clarifying question. Give each person a turn, invite a question, and finish by naming an idea heard from someone else.

Example to work through together
Watching the soft ball and bringing hands toward its path can improve a catch; rolling to a partner is a valid adapted version.
Try the starter activity
Practice gentle tossing, catching, and balance with suitable space and equipment. Then discuss your findings with a partner or adult, using the discussion goal above.
Student practice
Choose tossing, rolling or seated balance and practice three gentle attempts; describe what helped.
